The MA887 refractometer salinity meter is an optical instrument that uses the refractive index to determine the salinity level in aqueous solutions. The method is simple and fast. Samples are measured after zero calibration with deionized or distilled water. Within seconds the instrument measures the refractive index of the sample and converts it into % of PSU, ppt or S.G. units.
