The SphereFlash® is an automated colony counter that meets all the requirements that may be necessary in a modern microbiology laboratory.
With its Colony Lite software version, it performs colony counting in a simple and reliable way thanks to its world-class software and patented built-in lighting system.
For more demanding users, the software can be upgraded to Colonies PRO to increase its capabilities, e.g., user permission level configuration, LIMS connectivity, worksheets, barcode reading, reporting, audit tracking, or CFR21 Part 11.
With the optional Halos PRO application, the Sphere Flash unit can be transformed to measure inhibition halos by accepting various circle approximation criteria to obtain the corresponding diameters of virtual circle areas.
In all versions, the illumination is provided by LEDs directed at the inner wall of a movable spherical chamber. The result is unprecedented uniform, glare-free illumination for a colony counting device.
The movable sphere automatically closes the chamber and prevents external light from reaching the area containing the Petri dish. It eliminates any reflections or interference from external light, creating a bright atmosphere free of glare from the Petri dish walls or the colonies. For transparent media, light transmission is also available in all versions.
